Port(al)
PORT(AL) is an innovative choral theater experience that delves into the history of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, exploring its past as a bustling port and its evolution within the ever-changing tides of the city. Like a river carrying whispers of forgotten stories, the acclaimed Brooklyn Youth Chorus guides audiences through a confluence of song, movement, and immersive storytelling. Co-created by a team of renowned artists including Dianne Berkun Menaker, Paola Prestini, Jad Abumrad, and Jessica Grindstaff, PORT(AL) invites you to navigate the currents of time, where the echoes of history, the realities of the present, and the dreams of the future converge.
We want to ensure that Port(al) is an enjoyable experience for everyone. As a new, experiential show, Port(al) doesn’t offer traditional seating arrangements. Audiences will move through the performance. While seating is limited and the flooring is uneven, we understand that some guests may require seating accommodations. Therefore, we will reserve designated sections of the available seating options for those who need them. Appropriate footwear is advised.
Regarding accessibility, the event takes place at the Agger Fish Building, a self-contained building within the Brooklyn Navy Yard. This venue offers sidewalk and step-free access, making it easily navigable for those with mobility issues or using wheelchairs. We also have ADA-accessible restrooms available to ensure your comfort and convenience. We are committed to providing a welcoming and accessible environment for all our guests.
If you need a seating option or additional assistance, please email ticketing@brooklynyouthchorus.org.
