Moein Shashaei: Conference Of The Birds

Conference of the Birds transforms the gallery into a space where the boundary between man-made objects and the wild wants to fade. This exhibition borrows its title from a Persian poem by the Sufi poet Attar of Nishapur, in which a gathering of birds embarks on a journey that leads them to an unexpected revelation.
The exhibition envisions a living room in flux—a familiar setting morphing into a landscape where birds take over, not as invaders, but as an inevitable companion. While some object retain a utilitarian function, together they animate the space, their presence redefining the setting’s purpose. Glass and metal objects, seemingly everyday furnishings, reveal avian transformations. The interplay of structure and organic motion gestures toward a journey—one of searching, only to realize that transformation has been happening all along.
Here, the living world is neither ornamental nor functional; it is a force of becoming. As visitors navigate the space, the setting responds to unfold conversations between the mechanical and the wild, between human presence and the flight beyond it.
