June Exhibitions: Lizania Cruz | Stephanie Santana | Caroline Garcia

A.I.R. Gallery is pleased to announce three new exhibitions opening May 31st:

Geography of Life #3 is a continuation of A.I.R. New York Artist Lizania Cruz’s research-based site-specific works documenting the relationships of interdependency between humans and nature and the effects of an expanding tropic globally. For Geography of Life #3, Cruz explores the impacts of rising temperatures in New York City through installation, a ready-made sculpture, participatory drawing exercise, and a pedagogical curriculum for artmaking with children and youth.

Call & Response is a solo exhibition of new works by 2024–2025 A.I.R. Fellow Stephanie Santana. Through textiles and installation, Santana investigates events that repeat and resonate throughout American history, knowledge gaps created by censorship and lack of documentation, and the role of Black women as record-keepers and stewards of vital information.

Heaven Knows is a solo exhibition by 2024–2025 A.I.R. Fellow Caroline Garcia. Garcia is the 2024–2025 Louise H. McCagg Fellow, named annually in honor of artist, philanthropist, feminist, and mother Louise H. McCagg (1936–2020).
