Everything But One by Performance Workshop

Life experiences, questions, hopes, dreams, and disappointments all fuel the choreography of Performance Workshop. Ensemble members work together, sometimes finding new ways, other times relying on old methods, to create performance pieces. Now, we’ve made a show!

Press~Play by AcroBAX

Press~Play, a play on the spectrum between the two words, explores the tension between levity and gravity. Words like hyper, serious, dark, and play echo through each piece. The performers dive into the complexity of joy and struggle — falling, flying, and holding each other through it all. Press~Play is a celebration of community, resilience, and the radical act of laughing, lifting, and playing together.

Linen Closets by Dance Performance Workshop

What is the dance of today? What is the dance of the future? Dance Performance Workshop has been hard at work trying to answer these questions through movement experimentation and choreographic offerings. Linen Closets is made of 7 dance pieces that weave stories of late capitalism, the experience of city noise and natural harmony, and the quest to find movement that feels just right.

About BAX Performance Workshops (PW, AcroBAX, and DPW):

BAX’s progression of dance, theater and tumbling classes culminate in a series of truly exceptional programs for our most motivated students (ages 9-18). These programs offer young artists opportunities to deepen their practice as performers, creators and collaborators in their chosen discipline and, uniquely, develop and direct original work for performance. These programs require a full-year commitment and each culminates in a showcase of student-directed composition and performance work.

Interested in joining a Performance Workshop for the 2025/2026 season?

Curious and age appropriate students (ages 9-18, 4th to 12th graders) with previous dance, tumbling, and/or performance experience are welcome to participate in Open Classes to learn more about the program. Please contact artistprograms@bax.org to learn more.
